As a Certified Athletic Trainer, I strive to keep all my athletes healthy and playing their sports as much as possible. From the moment an injury occurs, through having the athlete return to their sport is what is most important to me. Through my experience, I can make educated decisions that best fit each individual athlete to treat, manage and prevent an injury. Being able to assist athletes in all around recovery mentally, physically, and emotionally is the most rewarding experience I could ask for.
Lewis University, Bachelor’s in Athletic Training, December 2020
Certified Athletic Trainer
Shelby grew up mainly in the Chicago suburbs of St. Charles where she partook in many different sports throughout her life ranging from soccer, basketball, and swimming. She continued her education at Lewis University originally as a Nursing major while playing for Lewis’s Women’s Soccer team. After sustaining a bad injury, she then met a Lewis Alumni who graduated in Athletic Training herself and worked within the physician’s office. After an extended conversation, Shelby then decided to switch to Athletic Training where she could continue working in the medical field while also having an important connection with sports. Her most memorable experience was working with the Coastal Carolina Football team during their successful Fall 2020 season.
Shelby loves spending time with her family any chance she gets. Her other interests include reading, music, movies, and art. She actually has a small custom art business designing custom art pieces and clothing for family and friends.
