FAQs

Is a Prescription or Referral necessary?

IL Patients now have direct access to physical therapy without a doctor’s prescription, giving you the freedom to find the musculoskeletal relief you need. We will assess your pain or injury and develop a specialized recovery plan that will benefit your well-being while reducing overall health-care costs.

What's the difference between In-Clinic Physical Therapy and a Sports Recovery Appointment?

Our Physical Therapy appointments are for acute injuries that are causing pain and dysfunction. These appointments are usually covered by insurance and include an evaluation by a licensed physical therapist to develop a plan of care to help you heal from injury. Our Sports Recovery appointments are aimed at keeping athletes and active individuals doing the things they love by providing access to recovery tools and services for maintaining good health and wellness, as well as maximizing your athletic performance. Our Sports Recovery services are not typically covered by your health insurance, but you can often time use an HSA/FSA payment plan.

What Insurances are Accepted?

We accept insurance from 17 different providers and will verify your coverage before your first appointment for a smooth visit. Not sure if you want to use your insurance? Our front office coordinators will be able to help you choose the best method of payment based on your coverage. We're also happy to arrange individual payment plans for those without coverage. Check out our full list of insurance providers.

When will I be contacted?

We'll contact you to schedule an appointment within 24-48 hours. To prepare for your first visit, be sure to arrive 15 minutes early to finalize all paperwork. We also recommend you bring any applicable medical information or records to discuss with your physical therapist, including any labs, diagnostics, medications, etc. Learn more about what to expect on your first visit.

South Loop

Another A+ experience at IMPACT with Liz and her staff treating my injury during marathon training. They have been flexible with fitting me into their schedule, different therapies to combat a pesky injury so I could make it to another start line. highly recommended.
Impact Physical Therapy has been so helpful since I had my knee replaced. All of the therapist are very knowledgeable about how to get me stronger, more balanced and always have different things for me to be working on.
I have been a client here for 7 years. Being an endurance runner who has run 13 Half Marathons and the Chicago Marathon 4 times I am always in need of some tune-ups and special care for my body. I have had injuries that required months of PT and they managed to get me back to the starting line as healthy as possible on race day. The entire staff is incredible and they get so much credit for keeping me in the run game as I get older. I am grateful to Liz and the rest of the staff who are the most knowledgeable folks in the business.
I can’t say enough about the excellent treatment I’ve received from the S Loop Impact Team. From the initial assessment, to the follow up treatment and take home exercises; I am back on my feet and 100% following a foot injury. Kudos to Liz and her team!!! Love you guys, keep up the awesome work!!!

Lakeview

I had a great experience at Impact Physical Therapy with Shannon. I came in with hip and knee pain from running, and she immediately provided clear guidance on warmup drills and workout adjustments. I received manual therapy and dry needling during my first visit, which made a noticeable difference. The service was friendly, efficient, and professional, and the facility was clean and well-equipped. Highly recommend.
Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Paul, Kyle and Shannon all do a fantastic job to get me back to where I need to be.
Had a great experience with Paul! He helped me get the right exercises and routines in my life to help my knee as I was training for a running race.

Would highly recommend!

Naperville

Impact is great. The location is fantastic and they’re flexible around your work schedule. I find it to have a welcoming engaging environment, treatments specific to the patient, expertise in the field, and quality results. Chris and Kristie (plus whoever happens to be working that day) do a solid job getting you healthy again.
I have had an excellent experience thus far with all PT’s being extremely knowledgeable and show the care and compassion you hope to get with any medical provider. I am currently working with Chris Hater, PT and he is so nice, personable and makes the session fun. Kristie at the front desk is so easy to work with and makes the scheduling process a breeze. All the rehab aides are also so helpful! I am so glad I chose this Impact location to get my therapy! I would highly recommend to anyone else.
Professional environment where you can get an individualized treatment plan. My PT, Bill, did an excellent job answering my questions, going through a thorough assessment, and giving me appropriately challenging exercises to help me progress. Would definitely recommend IMPACT Physical Therapy & Sports Recovery in Naperville.

Norridge

Impact has been very good as far as therapists are concerned. I’ve had a lot of therapy over the years due to surgeries.
These are fantastic people. They do the job and hopefully after the doctor is done with me I’ll be able to get to be 100% again I look forward to working with impact and my doctors to get this all done. Thank you very much

Very friendly and helpful staff. My progress is impressive. Impact has even helped with insurance issues. Highly recommend this location
A WONDERFUL TEAM OF INDIVIDUALS. BY FAR THE BEST TREATMENT I’VE EVER RECEIVED. EVERYONE IS FRIENDLY AND HAPPY TO HELP EVERYONE RECOVER NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCE. VERY MOTIVATING AND WELCOMING FROM DAY ONE UP TO THE LAST DAY. SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ASHLEY AND TIANA, YOU LADIES REALLY HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART.
HIGHLY recommend. This is a facility that truly cares. All of the staff are so nice, comforting, and compassionate. Also very knowledgeable. I was very nervous since it was my first time in physical therapy, but all the staff were so nice and made the environment comfortable. I saw Tiana for a shoulder injury. She’s the best! She’s very patient, thorough in her evaluations, and dedicated to helping you reach your goals! 🙂

Champaign

Great place! Very attentive staff and friendly environment!
I love the family atmosphere. You do your therapy in an open room. It’s like a group class for your health. There is a lot of accountability not only to the therapists but also for patients taking responsibility for their own recovery. It was so different from my experiences elsewhere when you have the opinion of one therapist in a cramped room. The therapy assistants are awesome too. They truly care for your growth and healing. I even got to know some of my fellow clients. I definitely know where to go when something happens to me; and I know it will.
Amazing! Highly recommend Gretchen. Very attentive, knowledgeable, and willing to pursue knowledge to advance care.
Really friendly and helpful staff. Easy to work with, easy to set up appointments, and great availability for appointments.

Orland Park

Great staff, they really care and pay close attention to you and progress. They switch up therapy according to your progress
I’ve had back, groin and thigh pain for almost 2 years now. All on my left side. Went to Impact physical therapy in Orland for treatment. Had Tammy Stack as my PT. About half way through, she told me the problem could be my left hip and recommended a hip doctor at Parkview. Went to the doc, he did an X-ray and told me I had moderate arthritis in the left hip and suggested a left hip injection. It’s been a week since the injection and my pain has diminished greatly. I’ll probably need a hip replacement in the future to permanently resolve the issue. If it wasn’t for Tammy’s expertise, I’d still be in a lot of pain. Thank you Tammy for the diagnosis, I’m doing much better!
Update 04/21/2025
I’m back at Impact Physical Therapy due to a surgery I had in February of this year. Of course, as soon as I received my PT orders from the doctor, I immediately contacted Impact and requested Tammy as my therapist. The recovery has been difficult due to the complexity of the surgery, however, every time I’m at Impact, Tammy pushes me more and more. I’m now just about able to walk without a cane and am feeling much better. The woman is a physical therapy genius! Again, thank you Tammy, you simply are the best!
Best pt theraphy I ever had.i am a senior so I have been to a few physical therapy places before. I wish I could go there everyday. Most positive experience I ever had with pt. You won’t be sorry😃❤️😇
